2008 marks the 3rd year in running for World GameMaster Tournament (WGT) – one of the world’s largest gaming tournament which aims to nurture budding gamers and at the same time, provide the professional gamers with a platform to pit their skills amongst one another.

The WGT Singapore 2008 Finals will kick off at Games Convention Asia (GCA) from the 18th to 20th Sep 2008 at Suntec Convention Centre Hall 404. The official game titles are DOTA and Call of Duty 4 (COD4). This year, the tournament is made even more exciting and intense with the additional of foreign players who flew down to Singapore specially to participate in WGT. The players are Kingsurf, Tbun & DNA’Sk aka CyberTime from Malaysia for DOTA and XcN.COD4, bc and eMpNexT from Indonesia for Call of Duty 4. The participants will pit their skills against one another for the fantastic prizes which are worth over S$ 14,000!

The Prize Structure for WGT Singapore is as follow:

DOTA First S$ 5,0000 plus 5 sets of Kingston 2G HyperX DDR2-1066 Memory Kit Second S$ 3,000 Third S$ 1,000

COD4 First S$ 2,5000 plus 5 sets of Kingston 2G HyperX DDR2-1066 Memory Kit Second S$ 1,500 Third S$ 500

 

Besides the gaming competition, there will also be a myriad of activities that are happening at the WGT booth. The Public will be able to try their hands at driving a race car with the D-BOX car simulator which closely mimics the experience of driving a real race car.

Besides that, there are also special bullet vests that are made available at the ASUS booth that users can put on during gaming to feel every kick, punch, slash and even gun shots made by their enemies.

For those who prefer less action, they can head over to the entertainment area where Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo Wii consoles are available for public gaming. Our lively emcee will also be conducting activities throughout the day with attractive prizes as such the Windows Vista Ultimate CD, limited edition Lamborghini Mouse pads and Kingston memories to be won!

All good things will must come to an end and WGT Singapore is no exception. The award ceremony for the brave warriors will be held on Saturday, 20th September at 7pm. So head on down to the WGT booth and witness the crowning of the Singapore WGT 2008 champion!
